The JBA
Formerly the Jackson-Taylor Business & Professional Association, the Japantown Business Association continues the legacy of community and business support of the old Chinatown/Japantown area.
The JBA manages the local Business Improvement District (BID). It became the third BID in San Jose in 1987.
Current objectives:
To promote public awareness and appreciation for Japantown.
To work with local government agencies to promote and preserve Japantown as a cultural and historic resource.
To encourage the preservation of photos and artifacts that reflect the ethnic and historical fabric of the community.
To sponsor special events and fundraisers that support the JBA goals, such as our Japantown Certified Farmer’s Market.
