Purification Ceremony and Blessing of Japantown Square

A purification ceremony and blessing of the site in advance of the construction of the long-awaited Japantown Square (6th and Jackson Sts.) was held Monday, February 18 by Revs. Byron Ishiwata and Masato Kawahatsu, Alice Kawahatsu, and many representatives of Japantown community organizations, businesses and residents.
